Post 9 : Changes to my study program

Hi bloggers:  How is it going?  I  hope as good as possible  considering the present circumnstances..

Well, today's topic is about your study programme.  As ar as I can remember , my study program was quite good  n the English area, but in that  related to education, it was quite poor. For instance, all the subjects related to methodology and assessment , the teachers and programs were awful. Then I had to study those  areas by myself when I was already working. What do you think of  your study programme? What changes would you like to make?  You may focus on different aspects, such as : subjects, facilities, professors, field trips and any other area you'd like to. In my case I'd like to talk about a topic that I 'm interested in : Immigrants.  This is a national issue nowadays considering the huge  number of people coming to settle down  in Chile. They have contributed with their own cultures, customs and habits sometimes for better  or for worse.  In recent weeks there's been a lot of discussion about the policies that are to be made in order to control and  standardise the process of immigration. Post 7 : (Themed Post 3 ) Cooking Recipes

Hi everyone. Today's topic for blogging is the third  free one you chose : Cooking Recipes. First of all, I must say I love cooking because I enjoy eating,  trying  new  and unknown dishes, exotic spices, etc. Actually, I don't know any cooking recipe by heart, since  whenever I need one, I look it up in internet and   put it into practice. In those dishes that I know, I can do it and make some changes sometimes just at the moment of cooking. I love cooking fish, seafood, vegetables of all kinds, different types of salads, etc. The only thing I don't know how to prepare is desserts. no idea at all. Actually I've learnt to prepare just the things I like eating. Well , I've noticed that I 've been writing about cooking instead of recipes, but I don't know  any of them. What about you? Post 6 : Postgraduate Studies

Hi bloggers : How have you been doing?   Here we're blogging again ! ..Our topic today is postgraduate studies, which immediately reminds me of the time when I decided to do a Master's in Linguistics at Universidad Católica  a looong time ago. I did it  3 years  after I'd graduated as a teacher. It was interesting, but very hard because I had to work and study a lot at the same time.  As far as I know all of you are doing , the  second  or third year of Agriculture or Natural Resources, right?  So in two or three  more years you'll be finishing your undergraduate program. Do you think you'd like to do some postgraduate studies? If so, what course would you consider doing in the future? Why? Where would you like to do it (Chile or abroad)?  How  would  you like to study (distance learning, blended system, part-time course, etc). Post 5 : My future job

Hello everyone : Nowadays when the topic of education as a means of social mobility  and all the implications of that fact, have been seriously questioned, analysed , and discussed , I think it is inevitable to relate education with future jobs, with your expectations about positions, jobs, salaries, types of work , etc When I was  at school I always wanted to work with English as a translator or an interpreter. However, the year I had to enter the university,  the career of Translation was closed. I was totally lost because it was the only one I liked. Then I decided to enter English Teaching at PUC  in order to change careers internally. How naive I was at 17 !!! It was impossible in practice. Desperate this time, I received the best advice from a teacher: " As a translator, you can't work as a teacher, but as a teacher you can work as a translator anywhere".  As easy as that! That's exacly what I've done in my professional development.  What about  you? what  have you thought about  it? For example, have you  planned to take a major after you graduate?  Explain why. What kind of job would you like to have? Describe it.What aspects would you consider  when choosing your job? Post 4 : Themed Post 2: Climate Change

Hi bloggers: Today's post   is about one of the topics you chose:  Climate change , which just as we commented last class, is    an evident phenomenon  present in different parts of the world more and more violently. We can see very heavy rains in places that have been usually deserts ,  or  just the opposite,  very severe droughts in areas that used to be very rainy.  The main point is how to reverse this climate change, what people can do to stop it or reverse it  if that's still  possible.  Developed countries  must get  involved in any plan to overcome  or stop climate change, since they are an important source of  pollutants in the planet. I personally hope this Climate Change Conference (COP25) can get to  some agreements that lead to specific policies to reverse this damage to the planet. What about you?  How do you feel about the future of the  planet? What do you think about possible solutions ?   Word count : 200 words. Post 3 : Free- Themed post : Pets

Hi bloggers: Long time no see!  Well , back again to posting. This time you're going to write about one of the topics you chose some time ago: pets. Personally, I must admit that this topic is not my cup of tea, since I'm not fond of  animals. However, I remember having some dogs when I was a teenager, but they were  street dogs that came home looking for food and  stayed till they died. What I mean is that they were not my pets. I saw them every day, but never touched them or played with them. I don't know why; probably because my mum doesn't like  any kind of pets "because they transmit infections" .. So during my childhood  I wasn't allowed  to touch or play with them.  I know what you're thinking: A totally histerical  mother raising neurotic  children: You are right!!!. But I'm sure you 've had a totally different experience. Can you tell me about  it?  Do you remember your first pets? Did you have any duties with them when you were little children? What about your pets now?

Post #2 : The best holiday OR The best concert I've ever had

Hello bloggers : How  have you been doing? I hope everything's  great  . Well.  today we've got 2 topics for you to choose ONE: Your best  holidays or your best concert. As the latter is  not my cup of tea, I'll tell you about the first one.  .It's difficult for me to choose the best holidays because I've had several good ones, but perhaps the one that I usually remember because it was totally different from  all the other ones was when I was 19 years old and hitchhiked  from Stgo to Chiloe with a friend  during February. I visited lots of places and met lots of interesting people, but the most important was the  experience of solving problems, making decisions I'd never made before and realising  we were able to do it by ourselves.  What about you? Write about  when it was, where you went, how long it was, who you went with, what activities you did, why it has been your best  holidays so far  and add any other information  you consider relevant to the topic. The second option is to write about the best concert you've ever attended. Talk about when and where it was , what artist you saw, what you know about that artist, describe the atmosphere you  could see during the event, how you felt and why you enjoyed it and include any other memories about it. Remember you must chhoose ONE of the topics to write about.

Post 1 : A country I'd like to visit

Ever since I can remember,my only dream in life  was travelling,  and more travelling. Several years later, I could make my dream partially true : I´ve been to different countries and  my experiences have been great. However, there are still many countries I'd love to visit, for instance: Vietnam. It's such a far away place, with amazing landscapes and admirable people that were able to defeat such  a powerful enemy in a long and devastating war. However, they've been able to develop  their country so as to make it the important economy it is nowadays. They 've managed to make a combination of  a capitalistic economy and a comunist system that is difficult for me to understand. That's why I'd love to see that place.  What about you? If you had the chance of travelling, what country would you like to go to?  Why? What do you know about it? What would you like to do there? Would you like to study/work/live there?
